Poolangi Seva is a special flower decoration service performed at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) every Thursday evening. In this seva, Lord Venkateswara (Malayappa Swamy) is completely covered with beautiful flower garlands from head to feet. The word “Poolangi” means “flower body” or “flower decoration” in Telugu. This ancient seva is mentioned in the Silappadikaram, a Tamil classic from 756 A.D.
